Denver Rental Licensing Requirement Approaching Fourth Year Anniversary

The first Denver Rental License renewals requirements will begin next year for those Property Owners who participated in early licensing. From this inspectors perspective, there are a few things you can do make the overall process go smoothly for you and all involved.

A Few Things You Can Do to Prepare:

  1. Bookmark the Residential rental property :
The Residential rental property page of the Denver web site is a wealth of information. Take some time to check for updates.  Click here for a link to their page Residential rental property
  2. Sign Up For the Residential Rental Property Bulletin:
Updates and news will help ensure you’re aware of any changes. Click here for a link to their page Rental Bulletin
  3. Review The Revised Inspection Documents:
Both the Residential Rental Inspection Checklist and the accompanying Inspection Checklist Guidebook were updated this month. Take a few minutes to review small, but important changes. If you’re a Property Manager, please note that the actual property owner and their contact information is requested on Checklist form.
  4. Preview The Property:
A month or so before you plan to have a Denver Rental License Inspection performed. preview the property while referencing the Checklist and Guidebook. This will help you both plan repairs and avoid any last minute issues arising from the inspection.
  5. Attend The Inspection:
If you (or perhaps your handyman) can attend the inspection, it may help with locating items, moving items if necessary, and provide an opportunity to clearly communicate  items that may need to be made compliant

Being prepared should help make the process easier for everyone involved!
